What follows is the operator's own letter to him, in operator's voice, as-typed tonight. No canon beats appended. No formal-offer paragraph below. No target list. The letter is the letter. The receipt below is for the reader who has not heard the name before.

Good evening Mr. Sarraille,

First… I want to thank you for something. From someone who until 5 minutes ago had never heard of your name. That is on me. I have accepted my lack of interest in the military multiple times recently, to people as high as Commander in Chief. It's on the record. It's on this site.

I do not pretend to be a "friend of the military"… I am not, but that is not the whole story. I have been oblivious to it. That is my apology. I will not thank you for your service. I want to, but I don't have the right. I can't salute you, although now is when I would.

I want to be able to say it. I want to earn it. I built something for… someone… I asked my friends if I am being rude. Friends who supposedly are MAGA pro-military… blah blah… that ends once they stand up from the table, or step down from their milk crate…

For me it never started. That's on me. I tell you I am sorry, not thank you. This is changing. I hope this continues to change, but so far it has gone nowhere. I made a site. It's more like an idea —

www.yiswmt.com. Your Image Stays With Me Tonight. The idea is a living memorial — not just for the precious souls in Arlington, or in an unmarked grave or ocean or whatever. Not even American. MILITARY. Does that offend? I want to know. I NEED to know. Not for the families, not for you, not for Mr President — for me. Selfishly. I need to know. If no one ever comes, that is fine — I still paid my receipt. But not if the reason is my error in judgement.

My ask of you, Sir, is just to look. Just to spend a minute or two, and imagine a place where families can connect. Where families can send videos, or pictures, or FUCKING ANYTHING to people around the globe. A place where a military wife in Northern California, and a military child in Texas, and the parents in Afghanistan can all send messages to each other. Families connecting in ways not before. Military men in the middle of fucking nowhere being able to see their loved ones with just the most basic internet phone.

I didn't know you five minutes ago… I won't pretend otherwise. I have not stopped writing this letter long enough to read your website, but I have enough to know you are the man I need to meet, more directly… you are the man I want to give this to. I have offered it to another soldier — he did not reply. I have offered it to President Trump. Let's be honest — he didn't see it. But he didn't reply.

Will you, maybe? Your site says you will. Your site says your mission is to help individuals — me — cultivate a culture of excellence and agility for sustainable growth.

Inspires. Evolves. Contributes. Succeeds. — Unity, not division. Trust, not hierarchy. Accountability, not blame. Excellence, not complacency. Empowerment, not control. Agility, not bureaucracy.

How to go from nothing to all of those at one time… I am trying to do it by delivering the product before the promise. Thinking ahead instead of behind. Thinking what I WOULD WANT, if I had a child in Africa, or Bosnia, or some place I can't even imagine.

You don't have to imagine. YOU LIVED IT. YOU EARNED IT. YOU CONTINUE TO EARN IT.

I saw you on Fox. I wanted to destroy your image. That was my instinct. I'm glad I didn't follow it. I followed the thread that led to a man — that is the one I want to hand this to.

Please take it. I don't know what to do with it.
